Almost not a kindergartner!

When did it happen? I mean she is almost really in first grade? It seems like just the other day she was just little!!! I am so proud of all she has accomplished this year. Haylee has excelled in reading especially. She knows math and has a big interest in science and reading. I am so thankful Haylee likes school and enjoys learning. My heart is full today!

Haylee has an obsession with milk! This girl LOVES the stuff. Every time we go to albertsons or Walmart was MUST get a TruMoo milk. Usually chocolate. The Walmart we went to the other day is maybe 10 min from the house and the whole thing was gone! She will have some strong bones when she is older!!

A girl and her dog

A year ago I caved and we got a puppy. We named her Isabella (from our favorite Disney cartoon) and Izzy for short. Somehow she got the nickname poof or poofy and it stuck. She actually listens better when called poofy. Weird dog.

Haylee has a very creative way of expressing her feelings through her art. As her drawings are getting more and more detailed and she is writing words on some I picking up on them more and more.

I was cleaning out her back pack tonight and getting it ready for back to school tomorrow and came across her picture of her and her dog jumping on a trampoline together. She loves her dog izzy the poof.

Izzy is really a good dog. She is lovable and cuddly and aims to please. She loves to go walking and recently loves going for car rides. She is the best car rider dog ever! Especially for being a mini horse! (not really a chocolate lab but the size of a mini horse)

Earth Mouse

The other night Haylee had her FIRST school program. It was about Earth mice and Space mice and how the space mice crashed into Earth. The Earth mice thought they looked so strange but when the Space mice helped get the cats tail the Earth mice realized that even if they looked different and strange that they could all be friends. Haylee had a speaking part and did SOO good. I was so proud of her up on the stage. I watched her the whole time. She was animated and sang all the songs and did all the motions and was awesome. It is so weird to think she is old enough to be doing things like this now. It is happening all to fast for this mommy. The growing up needs to slow down a bit. We were so far back in the play that I couldn't get any decent pictures while it was going on but I got a few before and after.

When it was over we loaded up and everyone went to Orange Leaf. My little Calan wants to go every where with his MaeMae and so he rode with us and even came to the house after. We went on a dark night time bug hunt. I love him and love watching him and Haylee have such a close relationship. I was never close like that with any of my cousins. They all lived so far away or were just so different then me that it never worked out.

A child's innocence

A few weeks ago Haylee came home from church with a picture she drew. I knew the moment I saw it what it was. Haylee was 6 months old when Meridith died and yet knows her aunt. She asks questions sometimes and we talk about her often. I know it's a sensitive subject because I still get sad. I am sure that is something that won't ever go away. Haylee wasn't sure what she had drawn and made up a story... Which don't match the picture. Later to my dad she told him it was Aunt MerMer and just didn't want to talk about it. She gets sad now and I think using her art is just a way to express how she is feeling.

Spiky Hair

Calan has become such a little good ball! And he is my best friend lately. Yesterday after swimming I gave all three kids a bath. Reagan didn't go swimming just joined in on bath fun! I fixed calan's hair and we did it spiky! He was such a good sport and is so adorable! I'm so thankful they are close!!! I just can't express how much that means to me. I love seeing my brothers be dads and the kids!! Melts my heart!

First swim of the season...

IN APRIL! It has been a very warm winter this year. I'm not sure I'm ready for summer but with the temps the way they are I fear it doesn't matter how I feel. This morning we went and took pictures in the blue bonnets with all the kids. They were pretty good and we actually got a few good pictures in. I don't get the wear white memo and was the ONLY person in black. I'll plan better next time.

This afternoon while at my parents house the little boys were asleep and haylee wanted to go for a swim. She actually swam for about an hour and a half. This is a good thing about summer we can swim April 1!! She had a blast!! However her swim suit from last year is a little snug and I think I must get her a new one stat! Thankfully papa suggested I sun screen her up and I'm so glad I did! I'm a little burned on my arms and she is not touched... Besides her tan lines are only darker. I think she keeps her tan lines year round!

We spent almost the whole weekend at my parents house and I will be the first to say it was great. I love my parents and my family and my brothers and the sister in laws and especially my nephews!!!

Texas Spring on a Saturday

This weather we have going on around here is awesome! This morning my mom called and me and Haylee and Adam met my parents at home depot. My dad is building Haylee a new bed! She has wanted a loft bed like what she used to have in our apartment. It broke in the move and we were very sad. My parents found some plans and off to get the wood we go! We went to the house and he started sanding and cutting. We basically were outside all day. The kids played and played and played. We rode bikes colored the driveway and calan even rolled down the hill! My moms bike has a baby seat from when Haylee was little and I rode around the driveway with Reagan. These kids were soo good all day!

Finding new places

Last Sunday it was SO beautiful that I didn't want to be inside a moment longer. We loaded Haylee up in the car and off we went. I have lived here almost my whole life... but never stopped at this overlook of the lake. I guess you could call it a park or some sort, but there are NO swings or anything like that. Just beauty. It was so peaceful and I loved every second of it. Haylee ran around and ran around and ran around. She was climbing on the stone work and jumping off into Adams arms. She reminded me of a flying squirrel. At one point she had me and Adam doing what she did as she was the "ballet teacher" and putting on a show. Lately she is all about putting on a show. She loves the attention and gets a little upset when it is not all on her. We are so lucky that our spring has been so calm. The weather is perfect and not hot and not cold I love it. This week has been spring break and the kids couldn't of had a better week off from school!

I'm not gonna lie and say I'm a little bummed. Yesterday we had a very successful garage sale. Big thanks to my mom! I sold all of Haylee's baby gear stuff. Her swing and jumpers and even her travel system (car seat/ stroller combo). I was really sad when it all finally drove off. Luckily I know the couple who bought it and have known the wife (and soon to be mommy) for a long time. Haylee has not been little for a long time and this I know but it's just kinda sad seeing the little baby chapter really gone. Her stroller and car seat and swing were probably my most favorite pieces of baby gear I owned. Partly because I wanted that travel system so bad and my sweet Melissa got it for me. She was one of the first to know of the pregnancy.

Today my garage is a little cleaner and I don't have as much stuff and I have some extra cash in my pocket. I guess it's worth the awful looking sunburn on my neck, arms, and eyes (yes eyes I didn't wear sun glasses and I'm paying for it. My eyes burn easy!!).

Tiny Dancer

Well my baby girl is a dancer! Or at least in dance class. She is loving it! Today she got her ballet practice clothes. She was falling all over the place in those adorable ballet shoes. I can't wait until she gets it all and I just hope she got her Mommys grace! I loved to dance and I really loved the technique of all things lyrical or ballet like.

Toothless

Today Haylee lost her first tooth. I was at work and Britt texted me a picture. I very quickly called to talk to my bug who was upset because she had already lost it! Never fear... Aunt Britty quickly located the tooth to calm the storm brewing.

Tonight she wanted to make the tooth fairy something like a little note so that she (the tooth fairy) is appreciated.

As I tucked her into bed she was full of theory's as to how the tooth fairy looked, her size, and how she may enter the house. She was worried that the TF know about vivint (our alarm company) so that she doesn't set of the alarm. It was very cute.

I can't believe that my little girl has lost a tooth... It's really happening... She's growing up.

Rest in peace Summer

Today I had to say goodbye to our Summer. She was an instant best friend 3 years ago. We bonded instantly. She was a great cuddly dog. Loved being warm curled up under my blankets. Today was hard. The past few days have been hard. She was an awesome dog. I love you always and forever summer.

My Reader

Mommy brag time! Report cards came out last week. In the envelope was a separate paper talking about reading levels. The goal of kindergarten is to have them reading at a level 4 by the end of the year. Haylee is reading at level 10!! Tonight in her reading packet was a real book. Not one of the learning books. We sat together ok the couch reading it tonight and she didn't struggle at all. One or two words I worked with her on sounding it out but other then that she read it with no problem. I am so proud of how far she has come in school this year.

This whole night was a dream with her. She played and played and sang all kinds of songs. She was so loving and sweet. I bought her this grey cardigan thingy yesterday and before bed she just came up to me and hugged me so tight and just said thanks mom! I made sure she knew how wonderful she made my night! She makes everything better. I love my haylee bug!

Creamer Towers

On the weekends we like to meet Adams parents for breakfast at Moes. It's a hole in the wall place by where they live. They have good $3.99 breakfast specials! Lisa has taught Haylee to make towers out of the creamer packets. She has been building now for three years! Yesterday she made a pretty big one. At one time we have three buckets of creamer and people were needing to come get it from Haylee! Breakfast was good but the company was better!
